“We make people & animals feel younger, allowing them enjoy a more active life for longer”
Remco Schmitz, CEO of INDIBA.
Revitalize lives. This is the objective of INDIBA, a world leader in the field of radiofrequency applied to physiotherapy, medicine, aesthetics, and veterinary medicine.
Endorsed by more than 35 years of scientific research, the devices manufactured by INDIBA helped both humans and animals stay younger, active, and recover faster from their injuries, improving their well-being and quality of life. All this, thanks to an innovative technology based on the 448 kHz frequency that, among other benefits, can also help the recovery of Covid patients. Based in Sant Quirze del Vallès, this multinational sells its products in more than 60 countries.
How do you do to “revitalize lives”?
Our devices, which are used in the medical, aesthetic, physiotherapy, and veterinary sectors, work at the very specific radiofrequency of 448 kHz. We use it because we know, thanks to more than 35 years of scientific research, that this frequency promotes the recovery of cells, and thus, for example, the healing of an injury is faster. We use the slogan “revitalizing lives” because our treatments make people feel and look younger, allowing them to enjoy an active and healthy life for longer. Our devices only use the frequency of 448 kHz, as we know how to keep it stable so that it is much more effective. It’s our little secret!
How can your equipment help fight Covid?
We have developed a protocol to strengthen the immune system that has been in use for many years. We also have a protocol against postcovid sequelae, which improves the respiratory functionality of patients. There are many people who have experience difficults with their breathing after suffering from the disease. This system can help a lot to speed up their recovery and, above all, to improve their quality of life. This kind of treatment is already used in private clinics and we hope that it can also be used in hospitals in the future.
What products have you recently launched?
In 2020 we launched a hands-free solution for physiotherapists. This solution enables a more hands off approach to treatments with comprising on results, something that was greatly appreciated duing Covid times. We also launched a device called HairWave, which uses radiofrequency to promote hair growth. Dr. Pablo Naranjo, who runs a specialized clinic in Madrid, is using the technology with excellent results. It can be used both to promote and maintain the vitality of the hair itself and to facilitate the acceptance of hair plugs by the body. As for the aesthetics sector, we launched the new “Sculpture electrodes” for body reshaping and cellulite treatments, which have proven popular with our customers. Another new product is the AT7, a small portable device that can be used to treat patients in the clinic or at home. On the other hand, the turnover of our cosmetic formulations doubled during 2020 after launching new creams based on cannabidiol –calming effect–, whitening and anti-aging, among others.
You are currently growing despite the economic crisis. What’s the secret?
When Covid arrived, we were quick to change our approach towards a more digital strategy which allowed us to be more agile and flexible. We organized many webinars, in some of which, we registered an attendance of more than 2.000 people. Apart from developing many digital activities, we also made the payment terms of our devices more flexible. Clients have found that we were really there to help them through difficult times. In addition, we have created an online training platform to provide training to clients remotely.
In 2021, the months of February, March, and April have been record-setting months for INDIBA. The Spanish market has already fully recovered. The Asian market as well, which is very important to us. And in France, we have almost doubled the turnover in relation to 2019. Due to our commitment to make the INDIBA brand global, we have recently accessed many new countries including: Peru, Singapore, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Israel, and South Korea. INDIBA is in full growth mode and since September we have been hiring professionals to expand the workforce and to strengthen our company as a customer-centric service company.
“We are in full growth and we expect to enter new international markets soon”
Your company is constantly innovating. What recognitions have you received thanks to your efforts in R&D?
We keep on investing in research in various areas, such as sports injuries or fat-reducing treatments. Now we are also investigating how to improve the quality of life of animals. In terms of awards, EDNA series devices have been awarded the bronze medal for industrial design in the equipment category at the prestigious Delta Awards. In addition, our quality management system (QMS) has achieved outstanding results after being audited.
What plans do you have for the future?
We are working on new technologies related to radiofrequency and its applications that may reach the market between 2021 and 2022. In Spain, we plan to launch an e-commerce channel. Furthermore, we anticipate entering new international markets soon. And as we continue to develop in the animal health and welfare sector, which we entered four years ago. We continue to grow.
